FOR APPLICANTS APPLYING UNDER THE PROVISION OF THE EXCEPTED SERVICE EXAMINING PLAN, CONSIDERATION FOR THIS POSITION IS LIMITED TO APPLICANTS ENTITLED TO VETERANS PREFERENCE. IF THERE ARE LESS THAN THREE VETERANS AVAILABLE, NON-PREFERENCE ELIGIBLES MAY BE CONSIDERED. Cleaning duties in accordance with established housekeeping procedures and methods. Clean and sanitize floor surfaces throughout specified hospital areas by use of dry vacuum cleaners and the two-bucket germicidal damp mopping technique. Strip, waxes and spray buffs hard floor surfaces (such as vinyl tiling and non-conductive terrazzo) on a scheduled basis by using the floor scrubbing machine. Collect all general refuse from waste receptacles throughout specified hospital areas, including infectious wastes. Clean and sanitize the interior surfaces of walls, windows, and ceilings of hospital rooms, offices, and restrooms, including drinking fountains, lavatories, furniture, and the like. Keep restroom in clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. Provide needed supplies (toilet tissue, hand towels, hand soap, and deodorants) for all restrooms in staff and patient care areas. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. Must be able to perform the following duties without more than normal supervision:
vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, washing walls and windows and disposing of trash/waster and ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Moderate heavy physical effort is used while performing housekeeping duties, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops:
running lightweight powered scrubbers and buffers:
continually standing, bending, stooping, and reaching, frequently lifting and emptying wastebasket:
frequently pushing carts loaded with dirty laundry or waste paper; and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to and over 50 pounds. Working Conditions:
The incumbent will work indoors and on occasion outdoors in areas that normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation. Occasionally, the Housekeeping Aid is exposed to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions and to injuries due to falls from ladders and risk of exposure to contagious diseases, infections, fumes, airborne particles, radiation and caustic chemicals. The Housekeeping Aid is required to follow universal precautions in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when a task warrants the use. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
